UC Ethics and Compliance Briefing

This briefing is designed to raise continued awareness of the University of California Statement of Ethical Values and Standards of Ethical Conduct, and to convey University employment obligations with respect to ethical and compliant behavior. The purpose is not to teach University policy or ethics but to familiarize UC employees with important ethics and compliance information, issues, and the many resources available to UC employees when questions arise.

This course should take approximately 30 minutes to complete the required material, and there are also four optional mini modules (5 minutes each) available.

60 days Every 2yrs All UC employees, with the exception of researchers who are required to complete "UC Ethics and Compliance Briefing for Researchers (ECBR)
Note: Protective Services employees are required to complete this training within 14 days of assignment and annually, thereafter.

NOTES:   

  • If a direct training link fails, search by course name in the UC Learning Center (UCLC).
  • Individuals who are assigned trainings will receive system notifications and can find the assignment listed in their UCLC required training analysis.
  • Individuals who have not yet been assigned this training can find and complete the course by searching the UCLC by course name.

    • A system-generated notification is sent to employees who are required to complete this assignment.  An employee who does not receive an email, should check junk, spam, clutter, and other email folders.
    • Failure to complete the assignment by the due date will have a negative impact on performance appraisal ratings and merit pay for policy-covered staff. Deans, chairs, and the Academic Senate will be involved to address noncompliance involving faculty.
