This Friday, March 27th, we will pause HR operations at UC Merced to observe César Chávez Day – a day to honor the man who brought the plight of migrant farm laborers to the forefront of the American conscious. As we serve the greater San Joaquin Central Valley, his efforts are particularly relevant in our daily lives in this beautiful farming community in which we live and work. During your enjoyment of this long holiday weekend, the HR Team encourages you to reflect briefly on the legacy of Chávez and his commitment to social justice and respect for human dignity.
