Hector Cuevas

Program Instructor

Hector Cuevas, Assistant Director of the Center for Career and Professional Advancement is the instructor for the courses in the Career Advising Certificate Program. He has over 30 years of experience at four major research universities directing all aspects of Career Development, Academic Advising, Orientation, Retention, Outreach, and Admissions for both undergraduate and graduate students.

He has served as Director of Undergraduate Advising and Assistant Director of the Career Development Center at Stanford University, Director of Student Life and Professional Development as well as Director of Recruitment, Outreach and Diversity for the Office of Graduate Studies at UC Davis and Assistant to the Dean for EOP at UC Santa Cruz and System-wide Director of UC LEADS for the UC Office of the President.

Mr. Cuevas has served as a Lecturer and Instructor at Stanford and UC Berkeley Extension, teaching Career Counseling and College Admissions. He has also served as a Consultant for the Silicon Valley Career Action Center and as a Private Career Coach. He has held professional memberships in NACADA, NASPA, NSEE, NCDA, NACE, AACRO and ACA, SACNAS, and SHPE.
