Health Net has announced changes to its commercial health plan business in California that will affect most of its group plans. These changes do not affect UC Blue & Gold HMO or Health Net-administered Postdoctoral Scholar Benefit Plans for the 2027 plan year. Health Net has confirmed that it will continue to administer these UC plans through 2027.
For now, there is nothing you need to do differently related to Health Net’s announcement. The UC Office of the President (UCOP) continually evaluates healthcare options to support faculty, staff, postdoctoral scholars and retirees, and are currently searching for a new plan administrator to replace Health Net. UC will share updates as they become available and will provide clear information before you need to make any enrollment decisions for 2028.
