Diabetes Prevention Program

The UC Diabetes Prevention Program is a free, one-year lifestyle change program offer to all UC employees and their families. The program is designed to teach you how to make meaningful and lasting changes that can drastically reduce your chances of developing diabetes. 

Program includes:

  • One-hour sessions led by a trained lifestyle coach
  • 22 session over the course of a year
  • Helpful nutrition information
  • Techniques to manage stress
  • Incorporate physical activity and stay motivated

  • First Class starts October 28, 12:00 pm-1:00 pm

Eligibility to Participate:

Requirement includes:

  • At least 18 years old
  • BMI of 25 or greater (individuals of Asian descent may have a BMI of 23 or greater)

And one or more of the following

  • Past diagnosis of gestational diabetes
  • Blood test with prediabetes diagnosis in the last year
  • A prediabetes assessment score of 5 or greater according to the CDC's Risk Test.
