UCM Human Resources is pleased to offer FREE Fitness Classes to the Faculty and Staff of UC Merced during the Spring semester 2016.
Are you ready to try something new and exciting? Are you interested in just getting out of your chair and being a little more active?
Mondays: Yoga, 5:30pm – 6:30pm
“The Yoga Round" A well rounded yoga session for Staff and Faculty to invigorate and relax. All levels are welcomed.
Tuesdays and Thursdays: Cardio & Weights 5:15pm – 6:00pm
This hour class is designed to focus on cardio exercises, weights and more. Cardio exercises along with stretches are used for the warm-up. This class also includes hand-weights, resistance tubes, and the stability ball for a complete body-conditioning workout. All levels are welcomed.
Wednesdays: T’ai Chi, 5:30pm – 6:30pm
T'ai Chi Ch'uan (in English: Grand Ultimate Fist) is a Chinese exercise that is based on Taoist philosophy. If you have wondered what Yin and Yang means you will physically experience it in this class. T'ai Chi improves your strength, balance, concentration and brings you numerous health benefits. The graceful movements produce a feeling of well-being and joy.
Join your colleagues Monday - Thursday beginning Monday, February 8th through Thursday, May 12th for 14 weeks of fun and fitness.
Location: Joseph E. Gallo Recreation Center - Exercise Room
- Log in to the UC Learning Center using your UC Merced Net ID.
- Search for Fitness in the search bar on the left of your screen.
- Select the activity you are interested in, click Register to see details.
- Choose all of the sessions you can attend.
- Click Submit to complete your registration.
Space is limited and registration is required. If you are not a current member of campus recreation, you will need to complete a Liability Waiver and bring it with you to your first fitness class.
