How the CAMP Program Works

  • The CAMP Leadership committee will review the mentor registration form and mentee application to ensure all required information is complete.  Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
  • All applicants will receive communication regarding their application.  CAMP acceptance letters will be sent to mentees and mentors.
  • Mentees and Mentors are invited to a Welcome and Orientation Kick-Off Reception to officially launch the Career Advancement Mentorship Program.  Mentees and mentors will learn more about the CAMP and its intended outcomes. Mentees and mentors will participate in a small-group speed networking dynamic exercise to learn from each other. After the "speed networking" dynamic exercise, mentees will complete a rank list of their staff mentor(s) of choice (list of top five). The date, time and location of this “CAMP Welcome and Orientation Kick-Off Reception” will be emailed to participating mentees and mentors.
  • The CAMP Leadership committee will match mentors and mentees according to information provided during the application process and the welcome orientation.
  • Official notices will be sent to the mentees and mentors regarding the mentorship match and containing Guiding Handouts for Mentors and Mentees.
  • Mentees will attend professional development workshops and group peer mentoring session every other month and will schedule the individual consultation sessions with mentors. The date and time of the individual consultation sessions are determined and scheduled by the mentor and mentee.
  • Mentors and mentees work together on a mutually established schedule for one calendar year and collaborating together in the mentee’s Individual Development Plan (IDP), program expectations, career goals, and next steps.
  • At the end of the program, the mentor and mentee evaluate progress made and complete the CAMP assessment survey.
  • Mentors and mentees convene to celebrate completion of the program at the “CAMP Closing Ceremony” event. Mentees will receive a CAMP Certificate of Completion at the end of the program. Mentors will also be recognized in the CAMP Closing Ceremony for their support and participation in the program.
